HOW TO BE PREPARED INDIVIDUALLY AND AS A FAMILY BEFORE THE GREAT TRIBULATION ?

Attitude and behavior required just before and during the Great Tribulation

The great tribulation will be a tremendous day: “Woe to those who yearn for the day of Jehovah! What, then, will the day of Jehovah mean for you? It will be darkness, and not light” (Amos 5:18).

The King, Jesus Christ, the "man clothed in linen, with a secretary’s inkhorn at his waist", will judge for the survival or the destruction of human beings, in Tishri 10th, with the 6 angels destroyers, who represent the whole angels who will participate in the destruction in the Great Tribulation (Ezekiel 9:2; 1 Corinthians 10:10; Hebrews 11:28 "destroyer"). The fact that the 6 men stood at the foot of the altar of copper, is the confirmation that the selective destruction in the Great Tribulation, represents an atonement sacrifice of destruction. It will begin in the Temple Sanctuary, which means that selective destruction will start within the people of God (see also the prophecy of Amos 9: 8-10).

A moment of Lamentation

“It will serve as a lasting statute for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you should afflict yourselves, and you must not do any work, whether a native or a foreigner who is residing among you. 30 On this day atonement will be made for you, to declare you clean. You will be clean from all your sins before Jehovah. It is a sabbath of complete rest for you, and you should afflict yourselves. It is a lasting statute” (Leviticus 16:29-31).

According to the prophecy of Zechariah, in Tishri 10th, there will be a Lamentation inside the People of God, and according to what Jehovah asked during the start of the celebration of the Atonement Day, according to Leviticus 16: “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of favor and supplication, and they will look to the one whom they pierced, and they will wail over him as they would wail over an only son; and they will grieve bitterly over him as they would grieve over a firstborn son. In that day the wailing in Jerusalem will be great, like the wailing at Ha·dad·rimʹmon in the Plain of Me·gidʹdo” (Zechariah 12:10,11).

This corresponds very well with the prophecy of Ezekiel 9:4, which indirectly refers to Tishri 10th: “Jehovah said to him: “Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done in the city” (Ezekiel 9:4).

Those who have the mark of survival, the Great Crowd, will be those who “will grieve bitterly” about the death in atonement of Christ for the forgiveness of the sins, but also because of this bad system of things (Revelation 7:14 "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb"). Before the celebration of the Atonement Day, the Israelites had to “wash their clothing" for to "sanctify" themselves before this sacred celebration (exodus 19:10, 14)).

The second reference to the prophecy of Zechariah 12:10,11, confirms that there will be an International Assembly of "the Mountain of Megiddo", seems to be the same as the one mentioned in Revelation (Revelation) 16:16. This is a situation of worldwide judgment that will take place, on the same day of affliction, and shortly before the (effective) Great Tribulation: Tishri 10th. And that the "the Mountain of Megiddo" seems to be exactly the same Assembly that in the “low plain of Jehoshaphat”, mentioned in the prophecy of Yoel 3: 2,3,9-12. The little “Mountain” of Megiddo is in fact in the “low plain of Megiddo”, in the continuation of the “low plain of Jehoshaphat”, that was the “low plain of Jezreel”, direction of the Great Sea (The Mediterranean Sea). It is logical to think that the "signal" of the son of man will be held this famous Tishri 10th, in this same situation of trial:

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:29,30).

This worldwide judgment will take place just before that the People of God, will come to the "inner rooms" (Isaiah 26:20): “Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken along and the other abandoned.  Two women will be grinding at the hand mill; one will be taken along and the other abandoned. Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:40,41).

A time of fasting and sexual abstinence

According the Bible prophecy, Jehovah will ask his People to fast with sincere lament in Tishri 10th, until the end of the Great Tribulation:

“Sanctify a time of fasting. Call together a solemn assembly. Gather together [the] older men, all the inhabitants of the land, to the house of Jehovah YOUR God, and cry to Jehovah for aid” (Joel 1:14).

According to Bible prophecy, Jehovah will ask a sexual abstinence for the married couples, in Tishri 10th, until the end of the Great Tribulation:

“Let [the] bridegroom go forth from his interior room, and [the] bride from her nuptial chamber” (Joel 2:16b).

We can also say that there is a similarity between the recommendations of Joel 2: 15,16 and Isaiah 26:20:

“Blow a horn in Zion, O men. Sanctify a time of fasting. Call together a solemn assembly. 16 Gather [the] people together. Sanctify a congregation. Collect [the] old men together. Gather children and those sucking the breasts together. Let [the] bridegroom go forth from his interior room, and [the] bride from her nuptial chamber” (Joel 2:15,16).

“Go, my people, enter into your interior rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for but a moment until the denunciation passes over” (Isaiah 26:20).

So before and during the great tribulation, people and families will have to congregate in the "inner rooms" and not go out.
